Mind Gym

Visit our mind gym - it costs nothing and you can still eat cakes and have a coffee while working out!

Word for the day, useful websites, features on communication advances, games to play on the internet - they'll all appear here.

Media gaffes?! There have been a few in the past year. Russell Brand and Jonathan Ross for example? The two presenters offended actor Andrew Sachs when they made rude comments about his granddaughter - it cost one his job and the other a suspension and wages.

Well-known and experienced football commentator Jim Rosenthal had to apologise after calling former Olympic Javelin thrower Tessa Sanderson "a spear-chucker". His ITV colleague Martin Brundle did not fare much better when referring to pit-lane workers as 'Pikies'.

The Daily Mail is renowned for coverage of the government's loss of sensitive information held on memory sticks and laptops by civil servants. But karma can be a terrible thing and the newspaper had to confess in July to losing a laptop containing its own employees' bank account details and addresses. More media gaffes soon!
